In between sorting out my author page on amazon I helped to bath our Patterdale terrier, Diesel. He was beginning to pong and we are taking him to meet relatives so he had to be cleaned up.
I feel really happy as I think I corrected all my mistakes, with a lot of help from Nielsen pubhelp and others. Now to sit back and wait for reviews! (I’m joking) That’s the one thing I didn’t put in the back of the book. Never mind, I’m taking some across country and hoping to find new readers. You’ll all have a rest from my mutterings for a few days.
Back to the football! Julie.
Well, I did it! I didn’t leave you but I added whatsapp to my new phone, understanding that the only people I need to have on there are friends and family.
I tried the selfie phone and ended up with a horrible picture of myself but I left it there for now. All my best pictures were taken by professional photographers. All four of the ‘Lane’ books have a photo of me on the back. I used an old one for ‘A Bend in the Lane’ as I am so white and wrinkly I don’t look so good.
Now my copies have arrived I am choosing who to send them to for a review. Last time I sent ten to Goodreads I only got one review so I won’t be doing that again!
It seems that when I ask for help I get a ‘like’ but not a comment. I wonder what I’m doing wrong. It would be nice to have a conversation, especially as twitter seems to have vanished. I can live without it. Maybe I’ll search for another picture. Diesel again!
It is Diesel’s birthday today. He is thirteen years old. I don’t think he’s really 92-he acts much younger than that, although he doesn’t always hear when we call him. Hubby says that’s ‘selective hearing.’
I keep thinking of improvements to the last page of my novel. I want the reader to feel satisfied. I know I hate rushed endings or those when one has to go back and check that you haven’t missed anything.
Our writing group is going from strength to strength. Wendy Hughes has local launches of her book all this month and I am planning a ‘Music and Words,’ event in May. Most of us will be at the Southern Book Show on 4th March.
I’ll add a picture of Diesel as it’s his special day.
