When we watched the rodent on the bird feeder yesterday we beame convinced that this time it is a rat. It only looks about 4 inches long but it is pretty fat. It’s all the seeds it eats!
Anyway, hubby has moved the feeder to further down the garden and put it on its pole. We don’t think the rat can climb a pole but we will find out.
The pigeons have found it already and although we can’t watch while we eat breakfast we hope we have moved it far enough away from the house to deter the rat. I think it might live in the next garden and come under the fence. However where there is one there are probably more.
I have missed my chance to take another photo but I’ll try to find one that looks like it to add to this post.
Sounds a bit too small for a rat. You’d expect one to be around six to ten inches depending on age.

We don’t want it too near the house, anyway. It could be six inches, but not bigger. There are smaller mice in the garden which makes it confusing. They actually get inside the bird feeder!

Hopefully, the pole will solve your problem.

Where there is one, there are many. Hopefully getting the food out of their reach will help. All the best, Muriel
